Software Update - Supervision and Workshop Hours (LPCC) (April 14, 2014)

The BBS allows LPCC candidates to count up to 250 hours of verified attendance at workshops, seminars, training sessions, or conferences directly related to professional clinical counseling that are approved by the applicant's supervisor.  Historically the BBS has required applicants to log at least one unit of supervision in any week that workshop hours were claimed.  As of January 1, 2014 the BBS has eliminated the supervision requirement.  You may now claim workshop hours in a week without logging any supervision units.

TrackYourHours has been updated to accommodate for this change made by the BBS. Workshop hours logged prior to January 1, 2014 still require you to meet the minimum supervision requirement.  So you will receive an alert and the hours will be subtracted from your valid total if they are logged without supervision.  Workshop hours logged from January 1, 2014 forward count as valid with or without supervision logged.

Although direct supervision is no longer required for professional enrichment activity hours of experience, you must still have your supervisor approve the workshops, seminars, trainings, and conferences you attend and you must log the hours on a weekly log and Experience Verification Form.

What date was this change implemented?

The change made by the BBS is effective as of January 1, 2014.  The rules in TrackYourHours were updated April 14, 2014.

Is this change retroactive?

No.  This change only applies to hours earned on or after January 1, 2014.
